Volunteers are the heart of our museum.  With the help of our talented Heart Guides, Docents, Interns Ambassadors and General Volunteers, we are able to provide the best possible experience for our visitors.  There are many ways to get involved with the Halle Heart Children’s Museum; explore a few of the opportunities below to get started or click to here to see a list of real-time volunteer opportunities.

Heart Guides

These dedicated team members educate over 3,500 students each year through our school tour program. Each Heart Guide receives extensive training and ongoing education.

  • Must be available to give tours 2 or more times every week during the regular school year
  • Have a flair for public speaking

Docents

As a Docent, during our public hours you will work with individuals and small groups to deliver hands-on educational experiences that promote a heart-healthy lifestyle. Often you will be responsible for interacting with guests on the self-guided tour to provide additional information or direction or lead a special activity or cooking demonstration.

General Volunteers

Whether you have one day to dedicate or want to establish a set volunteer schedule, we can use your help! The Halle Heart Children’s Museum engages volunteers to help us with everything from sending thank you notes and invitations, providing social media support, cleaning, organizing or making and answering phone calls.

We welcome volunteers 10 years or older (10-17 yrs must be accompanied by an adult) as well as groups.

Ambassadors assist us in a variety of ways. Sometimes it is running a booth at a health fair, other times it is speaking to a group on our behalf about the programs we facilitate. These opportunities are scheduled as requests come to us. If you are interested in joining our volunteer database, please complete the volunteer application above and make sure to indicate “Ambassador” as your interest category.

Specialty Volunteers

Do you have a special talent for graphic design, woodworking or technology? We have a wish list of expansion projects that we would love to have volunteers help us with. Please complete the volunteer application above and make sure to list your special talents you are willing to share.

Internships

Internships are available to both high school and college students (16 yrs minimum). Our interns are trained in all aspects of the Halle Heart Children’s Museum’s operations. The internship program is designed to provide students with an understanding of how to manage a nonprofit learning environment. We accept applications for Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. HHCM Leadership Committee

We are seeking passionate volunteers to serve on a leadership committee. The focus of the committee will be promoting the Museum and expanding its footprint throughout the Valley. Committee members will utilize their personal and professional contacts to gain awareness. Click here for a job description.
