For the past two years the Halle Heart Children’s Museum has partnered with St. Mary’s Food Bank  Alliance through its Kids Café Summer Food Service Program for Children to offer a heart-healthy meal to Camp Heart Beat Campers.

This year, we are expanding to become a full summer feeding site and offer lunch six days a week to children and teens looking for a summer meal they typically receive at a school location during the school year.

One in four children in Arizona live in poverty on a daily basis and do not know where their next meal is coming from. Each day, the Kids Café Program of St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance distributes more than 3,000 late afternoon meals to kids who may not have anything waiting for them at home that night. A sandwich. A piece of fruit. A small carton of milk. Things so many of us take for granted each day – but these items are the difference between going to bed hungry or happy.

Heart-healthy meals will be made available FREE to all eligible children and teens who are 18 years of age and under daily (Monday – Saturday) from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. In addition, Kids Café children and teens will not only receive a FREE heart-healthy meal, they will also receive FREE museum admission.
